One of the best bikes out there for the first timers! 5 year old learned riding on two wheels in 3 days. Love every bit of it. When she outgrows it, will most definitely buy the Mystic 20".

Bought this for my 3 year old daughter and she can't get enough of it. We bought it big because she was in between sizes but she is doing great. It is a smooth ride and well worth paying a little extra for a quality starter that will have your child smile with confidence on their first ride.

    Comments:

My tiny 6 y.o. daughter learned to ride on this Trek. It's low gear pedals very easily, which was good for her first rides. That low gear is now a bother to her as she spins like crazy to keep up with the other kids on similar bikes. Ours and one other Mystic have heavily rusted rims. For corrosion and especially WEIGHT SAVINGS, the rims on little kid bikes ought to be aluminum. 21.5 lbs w/o training wheels, basket or tassels is TOO HEAVY for kids 30-45 lbs themselves. How'd you like to pedal a bike more than half your bodyweight?! For a while, Trek offered the MT-16 with aluminum frame and rims...I bet it was lighter. Alas, lighter 16" bikes are hard to find. (After much searching, we got an 18 pounder for our son.) If your child is doomed to have a heavy first bike, it may as well be designed as thoughfully as this Trek Mystic.

Excellent sturdy bike that is great looking too. Our 4 year old loves it and its stable and sturdy a definite upgrade from a toy store or big box store bike. Definitely recommend!

My 3 year old Grandaughter went from a trainer tri-cycle directly to this bicycle with no problem. Other bikes were hard for her to ride, but not this one. It was as if she had been riding it for some time. I highly recommend this bike.
